Na kioscima se pojavilo jubilarno, stoto izdanje časopisa Mikro PC World, u kome ćete pronaći tekst o tome kako je jedan od najprestižnijih računarskih časopisa u našoj zemlji prevalio put od prvog, letnjeg dvobroja iz 1997. godine do stotog, septembarskog broja iz 2006. godine.
Tema broja je priča o 100 brojeva Mikra i podsećanju na vreme i događaje za nama, kao i značajnim tačkama na pređenom putu. Saznaćete kako je Mikro rastao, širio se, istraživao nove načine za prezentaciju svojih tekstova inegovao saradnju sa svojim čitaocima. Pročitaćete o izgledu novih i starih rubrika Mikra, promenama koje su se desile između dva "okrugla" broja, dragim nam saradnicima koji su nas napustili, ali i novim koji su nam se pridružili, a upoznaćete se i sa nekim ne manje važnim, kako mi to zovemo, "delovima" časopisa kao što su DVD disk ili MikroVesti.
Pročitaćete nekoliko redaka i o IT Globusu, najznačajnijoj domaćoj nagradi za izuzetna ostvarenja u oblasti informatike, koju Mikro tradicionalno dodeljuje na kraju svake godine. Najzad, upoznaćete i članove redakcije Mikra, kao i naše stalne saradnike, a zavirićete i u naše radne prostorije, odnosno upoznaćete tehnologiju rada na časopisu, koja je na šaljiv način ovekovečena na stranici sa Mikrostripom.
Pored slavljeničkog članka koji je potpisalo nekoliko članova redakcije, najnoviji broj prenosi i zanimljive američke članke o deset najvećih bezbednosnih propusta za koje niste znali, novim računarima zasnovanim na procesorima sa dva jezgra, kao i dodeli nagrada IDEA 2006. Tu je i nastavak teksta o korekciji tonskog opsega fotografija snimljenih digitalnim fotoaparatom.
U uvodnoj temi rubrike Testovi i prikazi ispitali smo nove modele prenosivih računara, koji su zahvaljujući masovnoj proizvodnji LCD ekrana postali tek malo skuplji od stonih modela. Pored prenosivih računara, testirali smo matične ploče, monitore, medija plejere, dodatnu opremu za prenosive računare i nekoliko novih, atraktivnih programa.
U rubrikama Novosti i Novi proizvodi pisali smo o poređenju Blu-ray i HD-DVD uređaja, mrežama zasnovanim na standardu Wi-Fi 802.11n, opasnim reklamama koje stižu sa Interneta i novom Microsoftovom Windows Media Playeru. Predstavili smo i MP3 plejere kompanija Creative, Dell, Apple i SanDisk, ultraprenosive računare, novi Seagateov gigantski disk i novi kamkorder kompanije Panasonic.
U rubrici Multimedija čitaćete o zaštiti muzičkih diskova, novim programima koji olakšavaju rad disk-džokeja, programima za kontrolu Winampa i igri Paradise.
U rubrici Mali saveti dobićete savete kako da sklopite računar kakav želite, bezbedno pokrenete sumnjive programe, pronađete ime iza zlonamerne IP adrese i premestite važne podatke na zasebnu particiju.
Uz septembarski broj Mikra dobija se DVD disk na kome se nalazi 4,5 GB programa i drugog korisnog sadržaja. Pored redovnih baza za ažuriranje najčešćih antivirusnih programa, bezbednost ćete poboljšati McAfeejevim programom Avert Stinger. Među mnogobrojnim standardnim i uslužnim programima naćićete Adobe Premier Elements 2.0, program za pregledanje i organizaciju fotografija ACDsee 8.1 Pro, programski paket Open Office 2.0.3, MP3 plejerWinamp 5.24, program za arhiviranje WinZip 10, najave filmova Click, Monster House i Sedam i po, kao i još oko 90 uslužnih programa.
