Da će prošlogodišnji Mass Effect dobiti nastavak, znalo se od dana izlaska igre. Drugi deo je u međuvremenu i potvrđen (izlazi početkom sledeće godine za PC i Xbox 360), a sada je otkriveno i nešto detalja o radnji. Igrači će ovaj put razrešavati misteriju nestanka ljudi širom galaksije, a nagađa se da su glavni negativci rasa Geth i robotski Reapers. Shepard će, inače, ponoviti svoju ulogu kao glavni lik u igri.
