To execute the special move, try this: 

Press [FORWARD], [FORWARD-DOWN], [BACK], [BACK-DOWN]. 
(In numeric keypad terms, this would be 4, 1, 6, 3 
if you're using player 1.) This will only work if 
you are facing left, of course, if you are facing 
right instead, simply do the opposite!
