i. Game Description

I have the power of Good Luck...

It's true. I win at pachinko whenever I play, and when it rains and I'm stuck 
without an umbrella, a girl appears out of nowhere to let me share hers. 
No matter what I do, my power never lets me down.

 

My good luck enabled me to survive when my family decided to commit suicide 
together ten years ago. I wish my mother had been as lucky, but she died, 
leaving Dad and me to carry on alone. There is one thing about my power: 
it's getting stronger. Someday it seems like it may swallow all of Japan...

 

Another classic love-sim game from the original JAST, Runaway City tells the 
story of Hiroaki, a boy with a mysterious power of Good Luck. It's almost 
as it some power makes women do whatever he wants. At first it's a great 
power to have, then as time goes by it scares him more and more. Unchecked, 
this power will be the destruction of all Japan. Can you find out the nature 
of your power and find a way to stop it before it goes too far?

1.  Controls
    
    The Controls for RC are basically the same as other DOS based Hentai games. 
    Arrow keys, Return or Enter button.

   Enter/Left Mouse Click: Select an action or option
   Escape/Right Mouse Click: Cancel action/load/save game or quit
   Arrow Keys/Mouse: Navigate through actions/options

NOTE: The Arrow Keys are a lot more accurate than the Mouse.

2.  Characters (In order of Appereance)
    
    These are the Characters you will run into during the game.

    Katsuhiko
    ---------
    
    Katsuhiko is your father. He runs a video game company that makes the 
    ultra-popular "Virtual Ninja" game series. Your father hasn't had a woman 
    in the house since your mother passed away. You meet Choko through 
    Katsuhiko, and one of your favorite porn stars...

    Rin Watanabe
    ------------    

    Also known as "Akihabara no Hondala", or in other words, a bad-ass bitch. 
    Rin is a master in the arts of "Virtual Ninja". She is trying to beat 100 
    opponents in a row. With your help she does that and a whole lot more. 
    Rin is also in Seasons of Sakura, but she only makes a couple of guest 
    appearances. Rin wants to run a Arcade when she graduates from college. 
    (some dream job....LoL)

    Megumi Fujisawa
    ---------------
    
    She is a bright and energic flake of sorts. She loves to show off. She's 
    also a real snob at times. A regular guy doesn't have a chance in hell 
    with a big brat like her. But someone with good luck might just have what 
    it takes to conquer her mounds....ummmm, I mean, *sigh* nevermind

    Sayaka Suga
    -----------    

    Timid sums Sayaka up in one word. She is always carrying around her 
    writing tools everywhere she goes. Her dream is to write poetry books 
    and publish them for the whole world to see. Sayaka always seems to be 
    hiding something.... Come to think of it, maybe she is....

    Yume Togawa
    -----------    

    Yume is a little too "outgoing". She has recently aquired a taste for 
    S&M/B&D, or Submission & Masochism and Bondage & Domination.

    Nene Togawa
    -----------

    Yume's sister. She has become so afraid of people, because of her sisters 
    little "experiments" that she totally freaks out the first time you talk 
    to her. When you help her out though, she begins to open up (her legs...
    sorry, couldn't resist) and trust her sister a little more.

    Yuki Aizawa
    -----------

    Yuki is a very rude woman. At least that's what you get out of her during 
    most of the game. Yuki later tells you how she knows you and that Kana 
    wants her to help you find Mariko.Yuki later reveals the secret behind 
    your extreme good luck.

    Fujiko
    ------

    Fujiko is your lover. Notice I said LOVER here, not girlfriend. That's 
    because that's all you two do, fuck. Fujiko lives off of her many "lovers". 
    She gets money and gifts from many men. She used to black mail men for cash.
    You notice a change in Fujiko early in the game.

    Mariko Iijima
    -------------

    The rebel. Mariko hangs out in the alley and backstreets around town. 
    Her mother asks you to find her and try to convince her to come back home. 
    Mariko puts out well on her "I'm a tough girl" acts, but You can see right 
    through all that. Mariko is really insecure when it comes right down to it. 
   (BTW her name comes from Mary Iijima, the voice of Lynn Minmei)

    Kana Kurimida
    -------------
    
    Kana is a classmate of yours. Much to your suprise she works at Soapland 
    (not to be confused with Toapland, creators of AYB), under the alias Kurimi.
    She is a very smart woman and convinces you to help other people achieve 
    their goals with your trmendous luck. She is also letting Yuki know what 
    kind of person you are.

    Choko Iijima
    ------------

    The mysterious multi-millionaire. At first it seems that she is in love 
    with your father, but it soon becomes apparent that she wants to use your 
    good luck to make her even more money. (What's the point!!?! The bitch 
    can buy Tokyo!!)

    Hiromi Sasaki
    -------------

    Owner of the local bar. She attracts a lot of men to her bar with her 
    looks, and the fact that she's single. Hiromi is, in a word, blunt. 
    She helps you out a lot during the game, but only if you give her 
    something. I think she has an affinity with wood..... -_-' don't
    look at me like that girls, you shouldn't be reading this ANYWAY.

    Yumirin Kroda
    -------------

    Your favorite porn star. Yumirin is the woman on the video Kenta 
    lent to you before he went away to India. She is a Gaijin, 
    (foreigner) from the Phillipines. She knows Choko.

    Kiri
    ----

    The S&M author that doesn't write her own stories. She has recently 
    aquired the work of her neice, Sayaka. You must teach her a lesson.

    The Legendary Tree God
    ----------------------
    
    He gave you his power. No matter what the circumstance, whatever you 
    need just seems to appear. The Tree saved you and your father's life, 
    but he couldn't save your mother. You must choose to keep your powers 
    or risk certain death to get rid of them.

3.  Hentai Scenes
    -------------
    
    For those of you who worry about not getting to see all the little Hentai 
    scenes throughout the game, DON'T. Unlike 3 Sisters Story, you can't 
    skip/miss the scenes in Runaway City. The only two scenes it is possible 
    to miss are the ones with Fujiko. If you go to her house the first day you 
    can get one and if you think about her the first night you'll be treated to 
    a nice little flashback.

NOTE: You can't really miss any scenes.

4.  Ending
    ------    

    When you finally find the Tree that gave you your power, you will ask it to 
    take your powers away. Afterwards, you will start to see visions. Here is a 
    step by step walkthrough on how to get the Good and Bad Endings.

 A. Bad Ending
    To get the bad ending simply choose to keep your powers.

 B. Good Ending
    To get the good ending follow this diagram EXACTLY.

  Conclusion:
  I know it's hard to get the good ending. If you wake up in the Park, 
  you know you got the Good Ending. Remember this:if you didn't wake up 
  in the Park, Don't panic. Just Do bad, but then turn around and do good 
  when you can, and you are sure to get it.

5.  Extras
    ------    

    Extra things or characters you should know or take notice of in the game.

 A. To find Mariko, simply choose every place besides the Overpass/Underail 
    until you leave Yuki with Hiromi.

 B. There is a picture of Rei from Evangelion in your room.

 C. People at the main intersection talk about Aki, Mio, Reiko, and Kiyomi from
    Seasons of Sakura (I'm doing a FAQ on this game too).

 D. Desert Eagle from Seasons of Sakura is somewhere in the game.

 E. Fatal Fury, and Samuri Showdown are hidden in the game...somewhere.

 F. Virtual Ninja's sequel is talked about in Seasons of the Sakura.

 G. Zero One is a very popular store for H-Games.

 H. There's a poster of Ryu and Ken from the Street Fighter series hanging up 
    in the Arcade.

 I. Rin makes a guest appereance in Seasons of Sakura.
