Sama priča započinje sa Rejmenom i njegovom družinom, koji svojim hrkanjem zasmetaju zloj gospođi ispod zemlje, koja isfrustrirana zbog manjka mira i spokoja šalje armiju zlih stvorenja i krilatih monstruma da opkole svet. Priča, koliko je jednostavna, je toliko i efektivna u vidu držanja pažnje. Iako se kroz kampanju pojavljuju razni karakteri, ni u jednom delu se nećete osećati preoterećeni informacijama. Sama igra je postavljena kao klasični dvodimenzionalni platformer, koji ne samo po mom, već i po mišljenju mnogih predstavlja jednu od najlepših 2D video igara koje su ikad napravljene.
Dinamični gameplay čini da igra ni na trenutak ne dosadi
Stiče se utisak da su autori proveli nebrojene dane i noći proučavajući šta je to toliko valjalo u famoznim platformer igrama poput Mario Bros. serijala, istovremeno kibicujuću određene elemente na drugim stranama koji su im delovali interesantno. Rezultat je igra koja je jednostavno rečeno genijalna, uz razne izražene kvalitete. Dok igrate sve deluje nekako brže i dinamičnije, kao i više linearno i usmereno iskustvo koje će vas sumanuto mnogo zabaviti, bilo da igrate sami ili u Co-Op modu koji odvodi igru na potpuno novi zabavniji nivo (do 4 igrača). Nivoi su klasičnog karaktera, sa jednom poentom – odlazak sa tačke A do predefinisane tačke B. Dok jurite kroz svet koji će vam oduzimati dah koliko je dobro dizajniran i osmišljen, morate skakati, udarati i juriti kroz mapu da bi ste došli do cilja koristeći brzo razmišljanje i refleksivno kretanje.
Pojedini elementi kao što su famerate koji u drugim igrama dovode do velikih kritika ovde prosto blistaju – igra je neverovatno fluidna i konstsantna sa svojih 60 frejmova animacija u sekundi, kvalitet animacija je bez premca a muzička podloga je besprekorna. Bez ikakvih ustezanja možemo reći da je igra vizuelno i tehnički perfektna i da je u njenu proizvodnju uloženo neverovatno mnogo truda i ljubavi.
Brojne mape i sposobnosti Rejmena čine igru još zabavnijom
Igra je prepuna različitih mapa i lokacija, od ledenih planina do vatrenih podzemlja, i sadrži dovoljno zabave i kreativnosti da vas zabavi od početka do kraja (čak i za ponovno prelaženje).
Kako igrač napreduje i prelazi delove kampanje on dobija nove sposobnosti poput plivanja, letenja, trčanja vertikalno uz zidove, i slično. Ceo sistem nagrađivanja i kažnjavanja predstavlja jedan omaž poslednjem New Super Mario Bros. za Wii, sa nekoliko interesantnih promena koje naravno ne remete srž igre, kao ni način na koji je prelazite. Da bi ste napredovali kroz određene delove mape, morate osloboditi takozvane Electoone iz njihovih kaveza. Što ih više oslobodite, to brže napredujete, i tako u krug.
Rayman Origins predstavlja kreativnost i majstorstvo, dva elementa koji su nedostajali u 2D platformerima dugi niz godina. Ukoliko igrate sa prijateljem u Co-Op modu, kampanja će trajati od 8 do 10 sati, a ako igrate sami, nekoliko sati duže. Jedina mana koju mogu pripisati igri su pojedini delovi koji zaista zahtevaju malo više veštine i tajminga. Takve sekcije mogu dovesti do poprilične frustracije, doduše velika težina pojedinih nivoa se i očekivala. Igra sadrži isti sistem oživljavanja kao u modernim platformerima – ukoliko vi umrete, vaš saigrač će vas sa lakoćom oživeti, tako da čak i ako napravite niz grešaka i izgubite svoj poslednji život, nikad neće biti pravi Game Over. Na svu sreću, takvi komplikovani delovi nisu preterano česti u preko 60 nivoa koliko igra sadrži.

Rayman Origins je zaista jedno brilijantno ostvarenje, koje ne samo što predstavlja dijamant među naslovima koji su izašli u poslednje vreme, već i daje nadu da “male” igre sa srcem i satima zabave i dalje mogu parirati današnjim recikliranim igrama koje akcenat stavlju samo na na grafiku i eksplozivnost, a ne na elemente koji zapravo čine naslov vrednim igranja. Iako se čari igre najviše osete kada igrate sa saigračem, ukoliko igrate solo, Origins predstavlja jednu od najboljih platformer igara koje možete odigrati na ovoj generaciji konzola. Igra je skrojena sa toliko ljubavi, toliko humora, i radi toliko puno stvari kako treba da je jednostavno nemoguće da se ne zabavite.
