Q3a is a very fast game!,and you have to think very fast,
so If you feel the bots are playing too fast for u, there are two ways:
(1) slow down the bot thinking speed by changing "bot_thinktime" to more
than 200. More than 500 and the bots will be very stupid even in Nightmare!
(2) Speed up your thinking speed: enable cheats (spdevmap q3dm4), play
with timescale , 1 is default 2 is double the time speed (0.5 is too slow)
0.7 is good to try .
-when time is slow you can avoid rockets easier and aim better with the rail gun.
so you can record a game "record" in slow mode and play very good.
then play the recorded game "/play [ to change the field of view
/cg_thirdperson 1 to play in third person mode
also /cg_thirdpersonrange
/cg_thirdpersonangle
/record to record a game
/stoprecord to stop recording
/fraglimit
/timelimit

Note 1: when typing a console command press tab to see
all commands that begin with the same letter.
Note 2: The file pak0.pk3 in baseq3 in the game directory is a zip file
with
none compression; you can open it with winzip, extract a file, edit it, then
add it and replace it with the old one with none compression......enjoy.
But be sure to make a backup.

bring down the quake 3 console by pressing the "~" key and then type the fallowing line
bind x "kill"
where x is any key of your choice
now during game play if you press the key 'x'. Then you will die your self. Thus you
can prevent others from fraging you in a mulitplayer game when time is critical
