Look for shady, cool spots where bass like to hide. 

Make sure that casts touch down at a far enough distance 
from fish so as not to spook them. By the same token, reel 
the line in slowly or you'll give them a fright. 
 
Only throw back fish when you're determined to catch 
the cream of the crop. A few pounds of bass are better 
than none in a tournament ranking.
