Zašto praviti još jedan WoW klon?
U intervjuu datom sajtu GamesIndustry.biz, Hilmar Veigar Petursson, "tatko na mafiju" , aka CEO, MMO igre EVE Online govori o aktuelnoj pojavi pravljenja WoW klonova (verovatno inspirisan izlaskom igre The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar). Govori o tome kako postoje mnoge "neistrazene" mmo oblasti u kojima treba tražiti svoju šansu, pre nego u fanraziskom MMOu u kome WoW prilično samouvereno vlada. CPP (izdavać i razvojni tim koji stoji iza EVE Oonline) se ne boji konkurencije u vidu novog sf mmoa (EVE Online spada u SF MMO igre) već da u tome vidi novu šansu za igru koju vodi jer smatra da svaka nova igra proširuje tržište i privlači nove igrače koji će nakon što probaju jednu igru, okušati i u drugim MMO igrama.
Da li je pravljenje WoW klonova isplatljivo developerima i izdavačima, vreme će pokazati. Da li budućnost PC gaming industrije leži upravo u različitim MMO naslovima, svakako.
