Universal Pictures su svoje planove za snimanje filma po FPS igri Bioshock bili prisiljeni da korenito izmene. Ukupna cena filma je procenjena na 160 miliona USD, pa je zato film, koji se trenutno nalazi u pretprodukciji, privremeno "zamrznut" dok se ne nađu jeftinije alternative. Čelnici studija, međutim, tvrde da će film svakako stići do bioskopa, i da će biti uspešniji od sličnih ostvarenja.
